I started April off in the beautiful town of Prestatyn, North Wales learning to drive again, the car I got only lasted 2 days before overheating, so I'm now in a Ford Focus. For the first time in years, I don't have to rely on public transport!! :D
TiC (Theatre in the Community)
I was invited to a TiC session to teach the songs for the Summer musical. We sang through "Half a Sixpence", "Too Far Above Me" and "Long Ago" from Half a Sixpence.
I was also on the audition panel for the re-calls (2nd auditions) for the musical in August. This was such a difficult part of the job as there were so many talented singers in the lineup!
I did a quick cover of Cory Wong by Vulfpeck which had some good reactions. I find if I try to record, produce and upload in the same day then I'm much more likely to actually finish projects. My computer hard drive is full of half finished stuff that I'll probably never finish.
Lots of gigs this month! Thankfully, I now have a car large enough to fit my keyboard in :D
I had the chance to visit BIMM Manchester and see what it's all about up there. I was impressed by the career focus of the lecturers and their connection to the industry.
I performed with some talented musicians for their performance exam (music production and performance at Leeds Beckett University).
LIVE at Leeds Festival
So many great bands, shame I didn't have a TARDIS. We caught Black Honey, The Night Cafe, Fickle Friends and Nothing but Thieves but there were so many great bands there!! (Conor Mason's vocals for Nothing but Thieves were exceptional)
Starting the month, I managed to run 3km in 40 minutes. Toward the end of the month I seem to have not done anymore running at all... the actual event is 3 days from when I'm typing this..
